Parnassius nomion, the Nomion Apollo, is a forest steppe butterfly which is found in the Urals, Altai, South Siberia, Amur and the Ussuri region, Mongolia, China and Korea. It is a member of the snow Apollo genus of the swallowtail family. Part of a new mixed media series on metal. Inspired by the artist's youth spent in the tropics of Venezuela. He saw these wondrous butterflies in their natural habitat daily. Giclee print on paper of an original mixed-media work on aluminum.
