Opal Water Lilies Brooch

Gold, Silver & Stone Brooch

Created by Renee Ford
Hand-fabricated brooch featuring an inspired scene from the many Water Lilies paintings by Claude Monet. A free-form triangle boulder opal doublet creates the colorful water portion that is framed by a bridge along the top and flanked on each side with fold-formed reeds of grass in sterling and 22k gold. Hand-repoussed and -chased lilies are sprinkled along the bottom, finishing off the framing of the colorful opal.

A double stemmed pin catch along the center of the back gives the brooch good stability. It is made of 14k white gold for added strength.

Hand-textured sterling silver and 22k gold make up the metal work. The boulder opal is 1.6" wide by .6" tall. It shows gorgeous flashes of blues and greens and faint sprinkles of yellow.
