Russell Jones Fine Jewelry

"I love working with vibrant gemstones, hand fabricating unique settings for each one. My design elements, such as prongs, bezels, and rivets, are a considered, thoughtful union of metal and stone."

Russell Jones is a trained illustrator and graphic designer and has a keen eye for color and proportion. He brings together a painter’s outrageous sense of color and designer’s devotion to balance to each piece he designs. Every piece of Russell’s jewelry is entirely handcrafted in recycled 14K and 18K gold, sterling silver, and individually selected unique gemstones.

Through a blend of traditional techniques and innovative design, each gemstone finds its perfect setting, each metal piece finds its precise form. Russell's deep-rooted passion for the history of jewelry and the art of adornment brings to life pieces that transcend mere accessories, becoming embodiments of individuality and elegance.

Jones attended Rhode Island School of Design to study illustration and took every jewelry elective class possible. He continued to make jewelry throughout his undergraduate career. Jones went on to receive an MA in Graphic Design from Metropolitan University of Manchester in England and worked for the next 20 years in New York City as an Illustrator and Designer for publications such as GQ, the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and Time to name a few. All the while, he was making jewelry for his family and friends but never thought he would become a jeweler. Through his connections in publishing, opportunities arose to have his jewelry featured in magazines. The publicity and attention received from the press turned into sales and Russell Jones Fine Jewelry was established in 2007. From his early career in art school Jones has studied with master goldsmiths and jewelers to hone his craft which continues to the present day.
