Radio desk sculpture
Created by David M Bowman and Reed C Bowman
A patinaed geometric sculpture for desk or sideboard. This piece consists of a fabricated brass box, made like our wallpieces, which is hand patinaed in subtle colors blending the blue-green of verdigris with the slight metallic effect of silver nitrate, brushed on in a pattern suggesting wood grain. The small square composition of triangular scrap mounted on the front has the dark sheen of flame-oxidized brass. The whole is mounted on heavy feet made of heavy bronze bars (patinaed black) which add to the Japanese-looking composition, while weighting and supporting it well. Note that this sculpture, unlike some, is not built to be viewed from behind. It is best displayed on a shelf, mantel, or sideboard near a wall.
