Riding the Wild Teapot
Created by Mary Ann Owen and Malcolm Owen
One of a series of tiny teapots that are made by the artists, this one has been quite popular. Although it stands 6" high, the body only holds 1.5 ounces of liquid. It is watertight and functional but it isn't recommended to drink from. The teapot is copper with tiny brass feet. The four individually cast sterling silver figures are holding a copper rein which is hinged to the spout thus lifting the lid. The tail/ handle is copper. The entire piece is immersed in a liquid sulfurated potash solution to obtain the dark finish. When the piece is dry, it is waxed for a permanent finish. Limited edition of 25.
