Eliana Arenas

"I strive to create distinctive and bold jewelry pieces that make a statement using traditional and non-traditional materials. "

Jewelry artist Eliana Arenas is fascinated by the transformation of everyday materials into beautiful jewelry pieces. She is inspired by how metal can endure and how well it pairs with a material as fragile as paper.

Arenas creates clean, contemporary, and distinctive designs using precious and non-precious metals along with familiar materials such as paper. The juxtaposition of these materials enables Arenas to create interesting and playful patterns and textures.

Eliana Arenas earned a BFA in jewelry, metalsmithing, and graphic design from the University of Texas at El Paso, and an MFA in jewelry and metalsmithing from New Mexico State University. She has also studied at Penland School of Crafts, been a resident artist at the McColl Center for Art and Innovation, and participated in workshops such as the Creative Capital Professional Development Retreat.
