The Gathering of Fixed Stars

A seated female figure in a starry night garden. The symbolic figures above her refer to the Iranian ancient manuscript, "The Book of Fixed Stars". The stars are also in her basket and are handstitched with cotton embroidery thread. The background consists of handprinted Japanese papers from the artist's press. The entire composition is collaged with archival glue and fine art papers. Some hand painted detail, some hand stitched detail. The artwork is on a sheet of heavy white archival paper. Packed carefully and shipped to you in a flat box.
