Loosely based on Persian miniatures, this piece is from an ongoing series that the artist returns to year after year. A melange of painting, drawing, and stylized calligraphic imagery, each of the mixed-media works develop slowly in stages over time. Expressive brushwork, glazes, overlays, washes, and calligraphy combine to achieve enticing spatial and color relationships that echo in each of the paintings in the series. Wood cradle frame.
