Mixed-Media Wall Sculpture
One of a Kind
The painted wood sculpture includes a glyph made of twigs, a found-object wooden bar, and a brass foil diamond. There are also three painted glyphs on one of the wood panels. Painting techniques include both airbrush gradations and paintbrush strokes. Two painted dowels emerge from the upper panel. The sculpture operates via an interplay between its variety of textures and forms. Signed on bottom.
The artist uses a variety of found objects in his sculptures: wind-polished aspen, milled-wood fragments, metal fragments, mining debris, high-altitude plane-crash fragments, stove parts, recycled crate wood, and more. Due to the unique nature of this piece, exact coloration and patterning will vary from piece to piece.
