Mixed-Media Wall Sculpture
One of a Kind
The painted wood sculpture includes a circle of stressed aluminum from a small plane crash along the continental divide. There is a larger glyph on the circle. A small twig hides behind the bent portion of aluminum circle. There are also three painted glyphs on the wood cartouche block. The painting techniques include airbrushed gradation and, int the lower portion of the central panel, subtle brushwork above the ragged edge.
The artist uses a variety of found objects in his sculptures: wind-polished aspen, milled-wood fragments, metal fragments, mining debris, high-altitude plane-crash fragments, stove parts, recycled crate wood, and more. Due to the unique nature of this piece, exact coloration and patterning will vary from piece to piece.
