Deconstruction Study #1

Oil Painting

(ID: A92851)
Created by Stephen Cimini
One of a Kind
Oil paint, cold wax medium, & marble dust on back-gessoed canvas permanently adhered to cradled wood panel. The canvas is gallery wrapped. The painting continues around the edges. Framing is not necessary however it can be set off in a floating frame.

There are 3 studies in this series. They are very striking hung together.

This series explores the artist's fascination with the science of color, how opposites on the color wheel "neutralize" each other when mixed together. For 3 months during the summer of 2015, Cimini limited his palette to hues of blue and orange. This is a study from that exercise.
