Parking Garage III
One of a Kind
Using the car as his motif or patterning for the overall composition, Watts has been interested in the parking garage as subject. "A place to house cars has always resonated as an interesting building type, and reference for my paintings- allowing me to vertically stack the cars for patterning and interest." The painting is oil on wood panel with engraving that is done as if creating a wood cut. The texture of the piece is truly part of the composition and shows the long hours involved in creating a dynamic piece such as this one.
