Created by Jeff Ferst
Ferst's painting style is joyful, juicy, and flamboyant. He is a colorist and loves painting the scenery of the southwestern US desert he calls home. Part of a new series of Tucson's barrio and colonial houses that feature oil stick, oil pastel, and pastel in vibrant colors that are applied by brush and by hand. Each layer adds more depth and interest to the painting. Like a conversation, the painting dictates what it needs as the creative process is played out. The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted black. Wired and ready to hang.
