This abstract image of clouds viewed from above comes from Sara Post's South American Series. Layers of oil, cold wax, raw pigments, and oil stick are applied with brayers, palette knives, and broad brushes. Surface marks may include manipulation with scrapers, hand broom, incising tools, graphite crayon, charcoal, handmade stencils, and masks. Cold wax is permanent and strong—it is not subject to heat-related problems. Clean by dusting surface. Each piece is framed with pencil-edged light wood lathe (2" deep x 1/4" wide) and wired for hanging. All work is signed on the back.
