funHOUSE IX

This is one of a series of painted wooden sculptures called funhouses. The colors and found-object inclusions reflect the joys of summertime and the fun of a summer playhouse. Each funhouse is covered in encaustic paint (a mixture of pigment, wax, and resin) - a warm, luscious blanket of color.
