Pacific Star Necklace

Polymer Clay Necklace

Created by Jeffrey Lloyd Dever
Evoking the breezy hues of a morning beach, this meticulously crafted necklace features an ocean-blue pendant offset by violet-speckled golden petals, orange countersunk glass beads, and a counter-drilled aubergine bead. The central star is sculpted over a hand-fabricated reinforced armature, then each arm is veneered with layers of colored polymer clay and cured. The resulting design is lightweight, sculptural, and elegant in its simplicity.

The pendant measures 8.5"L, 6.5"W, 0.6"D and is strung on a multi-hued, five-strand stainless steel cable with a sterling silver friction clasp. The vibrant surfaces, spots, and details are the actual color of the clay, carefully applied and cured in 10–12 individual stages. Each necklace by this artist features a hand-carved and backfilled signature block on the back.
