Double-Pleated Shadow Scarf
Designed by Laura Hunter
Created using a Japanese form of binding and dying called shibori, the texture is achieved when silk is wrapped around a pole, bound with thread, compressed, and then dyed and left to dry. When the fabric is unbound and removed from the pole, it maintains the shape that is was forced into. This particular scarf was made from two colors of hand-dyed silk wrapped twice, in two opposing directions creating a very organic texture and shape.
