Yuh Okano

"My goal is to embrace the intangible, to know the ephemeral, to be loyal to personal beliefs, and to be artistically consumed by nature. "

Yuh Okano's fabric pieces are inspired by the artist's deep fascination with the natural world.

The artist focuses on the ephemeral—a fragrance wafting on the wind, the riveting moment when someone first notices a lustrous flower in bloom—and designs these moments into the delicate patterns, colors, and textures of her scarves, bags, and accessories.

With a background that includes living in one of the most important of Japanese textile regions, Okano produces her textile lines with the precise craftsmanship and attention to detail of which Kiryu, Japan is world-renowned.
