Connie Verrusio

"I never throw anything away. I'm a pack rat and a flea market junkie."

Where others see outmoded technologies and broken machines, Connie Verrusio sees jewels waiting for the right setting. Her brother traces this attribute to when she was a child and she chased the telephone trucks asking for scrap wire.

Verrusio's jewelry career began in earnest when she moved to New York City and found a dusty store in Chinatown filled top to bottom with mechanical detritus. She never left without a small bag of treasures. This kicked off a jewelry career focused around the beauty of utilitarian objects.
