Ebony Drop and Chain Bolo Tie
Silver & Wood Necklace(ID: A84206)
Created by Suzanne Linquist
This piece takes an old form, the bolo tie, and makes it modern. The drops are ebony rectangles, two inches long and three-eighths inches square, inlaid with silver circles. The drops are attached with silver rings to a steel chain that has been plated with imitation rhodium plate so it won't tarnish. The bolo hangs down 17 inches (34 inches total length). The chain runs through a 1.12 inch silver disk which holds the two sides in place. One side of the chain is fixed, the other slides up and down so the wearer can adjust the length of the necklace and the relationship of the two drops. The weight of this piece is just over an ounce.
