Dome Box of Redheart wood. This small box was turned from Redheart (a very hard wood from Mexico and Central America). The box parts are first turned and sized on a conventional wood lathe and then machined, carved, and engraved with the artist's home-built ornamental turning machine. There are many details including three tiers of columns of varying sizes, a tiny, pointy pinnacle, and engraving on the interior and exterior bottom surfaces. The box opens with a threaded joint with a fine pitch.
