Wood Console Table
Created by Eben Blaney
Thin and elegant, the Petite Heron design resulted from a slight reduction in size of the artist's former Heron table so as to fit behind a couch. The new proportions worked well maintaining the same grace and angularity as its predecessor. The top is an amazingly figured piece of tiger maple as is the lower stretcher; the legs and aprons are clear hard maple. The curved stretcher is split down the middle and hand shaped to a near knife-edged bevel giving the illusion that it is being stretched thin at the center of the span.
