Wood Console Table
Created by Dean Pulver
This wooden console table is inspired by how the rhythms in music relate to rhythms in life. The central support is made from bent laminations that are spoke shaven to their form, and carved and shaped elements. The hand tooling is a important element to contrast against the machined/sanded elements. The processes of hand versus machine tooling reveal another layer of contrast that is intended to seduce the viewer. The whole base/body of the piece is dyed walnut. This table offers subtle features and details for added depth. The top and bottom edge of the base/body features carved textural line work. Additionally, the dye on the table top allows the natural curly pattern in the maple wood to show through.
