Wood Console Table
Crafted in solid black walnut, this distinctive table arose from the artist's love of clean angular lines and dramatic cantilevers. The table consists of three components: a "diagonal" of wood that passes through channels in the leg assembly; the leg assembly itself; and a single 12" wide board that drops down over the upper tenon portion of the diagonal, through a precise, steeply angled hand-cut mortise. A simple yet functional wedge, which passes through another hand-cut mortise, locks the whole assembly together, making it the key to the table's ingenious construction, which requires no hardware.
The table has a hand-rubbed oil finish. Minor assembly required.
