Created by Chris Bowman
In this sculpture, Chris Bowman has carved a house form directly from the top of a section of century-old barn beam. Carving the entire sculpture from one piece of wood allows the rings, grains, and cracks in the wood to be visible throughout the entire piece. The material is weathered on the outside and like new on the inside, providing a wonderful contrast in surface. This is part of a series of Chris Bowman sculptures with the theme of dwellings, which feature re-cycled beams, moldings, and trim mixed with new wood.
