Many native cultures have a tradition of placing a basket near the entry of the home. Visitors are asked to "...place any troubled thoughts, worries, etc. inside...", so that the home can remain a place of peace and calm. Inspired by this, the artist has hand-carved (inside and out) this one-of-a-kind rendition of a tribal burden basket. Sugar maple, the design wood-burned, then India inks are used to provide color. Rose thorn accents at the rim, harvested from gardens outside London.
