Mexican Rosewood Enclosed Form

Wood Sculpture

Created by Eric Reeves
This enclosed form is turned from a very fine piece of Mexican rosewood, also known as bocote. The wood shown here has the dramatic figure characteristic of bocote, and even some rippling of the typically continuous figure of the heartwood. The artist is particularly pleased with the lines of this enclosed form, leading to the bead that accentuates the figure of the wood.

All profits from the sale of Reeves' woodturnings go to humanitarian organizations working in Sudan, a country of passionate concern for him for the past twenty years.
