White Bird Form Composition

Wood Sculpture

Created by Dave Lasker
Hand-carved solid cherry wood forms painted with multiple layers of gesso. The negative space between the forms representing an abstract heart shape. The forms are mounted on 100 year old pine beams that the artist reclaimed from a historic house renovation project he was working on in Atlanta. Each form is mounted using a solid blackened rod in the beam.

The taller form on left measures 74"H, 10"W, 10"D. The form on right has a slightly shorter rod and measures at 72"H, 10"W, 10"D. Each sculpture and beam are also attached to a solid 2" piece of gray limestone.
