Bowl Turned from Australian Red Coolibah Burl
Created by Eric Reeves
This bowl has been turned from the costly and beautiful Australian red coolibah burl. The wood has amazing figure and a gorgeous color palette, but is extremely dense and difficult to turn. The shape of the bowl is defined by its ogee profile, perfected by master British woodturner, Bert Marsh. The term ogee derives from medieval cathedral architecture and requires a fine sense of proportion.
