Hollow Form Turned from Box Elder Burl
Created by Eric Reeves
This hollow form is turned from an exceptionally fine piece of box elder burl. Although it's a type of maple, its burl form differs considerably—it is much lighter in color and has the potential for richer, more intricate figure. The hollow form is turned very thin and is exceedingly light to hold. It is finished with Danish oil , carnauba, and beeswax resulting in a beautiful, transparent finish to the wood.
