Tree of Life Angel

Wood Wall Sculpture

Created by Elizabeth Frank
The "Lost and Found Angels" are inspired by the carved wooden angels that reside in an original Spanish Mission in the artist's city. All of the pieces in the series are made from carved fallen aspen wood as well as found, repurposed, and reclaimed materials.

The aspen wood was gathered in the mountains of northern Arizona and New Mexico. The wings are made from antique ceiling tin. There is an antique watch face nailed in the center of the body and a Mexican milagro nailed in the heart. The angel is crowned with a twig holding carved leaves, a flower, and birds, and the delicate leaf pattern on the body is painted with acrylic.

Coated with protective wax and signed on the back. Has a hook in back for hanging. Because it is fragile, the top crown section of this angel is removable for shipping. Each piece is unique; found objects and gesture of wood will vary.
