The Hawaiian Honeybee Series woodcut prints were commissioned by Big Island Bees to share the story of their relationship with honeybees in producing exquisite honeys from three of the Hawaiian island's most nectar-rich trees. In this image the i'iwi bird, a Hawaiian honeycreeper, and honeybees gather nectar from the brushy lehua flower of the ohi'a tree. Lehua honey, a favorite with Hawaiian residents, is a beautiful creamy white with a delicate flavor that crystallizes into a solid form. This is a multiple-block woodcut print on Rives archival paper. Ships in a tube.
