Kahakai - Earth to Sky

Woodcut Print

Created by Andrea Pro
In the Hawaiian language, the word “kahakai” describes the boundary between the ocean and land, a special ecosystem that supports salt-tolerant plants and animals. This woodcut print offers a peek into that world, showing the dramatic flora and fauna found there, including the ‘Ulili bird—also known as the wandering tattler—which migrates from Alaska to Hawaii in late summer.

Printed on Rives paper with oil-based archival inks. Each is unique and will vary slightly in color.
