Woodcut Print

Created by Ouida Touchon
Persephone is the artist's largest and most accomplished woodcut print. It is one of a series of woodcut prints that called 'Womenswear'. Touchon wanted the proportion to be similar in scale to the human body, so as to create a 'relatable' response from the viewer. It is an edition of 7 hand printed on Okawara paper. the technique is called 'reduction' and each print went through the press a total of 20 times. The inks are oil based. The print is completely archival and acid free. It should be floated on an acid free mat and framed under glass to protect it.

Persephone was the goddess queen of the underworld, wife of the god Hades. She was also the goddess of spring growth, who was worshiped alongside her mother Demeter.

The dimensions of the print are 47"high x 29" wide. It will be shipped to you in a tube with acid free packing.
