To create the work, the artist first cut a circle of translucent glass, then shattered and carefully reassembled it. The cracks were filled with finely powdered glass and fired at high temperatures until the fragments fused into a single solid form. Diamond cold-working tools were then used to refine the surface and shape. In a final firing, the artwork was slumped into a shallow sculptural bowl form.
