The artist first creates patterned glass rods, cuts them into individual ''tiles,'' composes them into a mosaic, fuses them together, then blows them into the final shape. Few artists have mastered this technique to the degree that David Patchen has, as evidenced by his large and precise work and his standing in the glass world. This Foglio has an pattern of hundreds of crisp white rings in an organic 'cellular' design. Each ring creates a slight lens effect so views through the piece provide wide-angle views of the patterns on the opposite side. This piece is large and significant having been double-encased in clear glass for great depth and stability.

Not watertight

Signed by the artist

Materials: Glass

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0765/5453/5147/files/707d2514-863e-4489-aee6-7fbf9117eaba_300807_l.jpg?v=1790989992
