Jamie Cassavoy's influences vary from Art Deco to African tribal jewelry to nature. She incorporates her love for the flora and fauna that surrounded her as a youth in Vermont into the pieces she creates. Clean lines, negative space, bold design and the use of texture with accents of color are the fundamental aesthetic concerns at the root of all her work.
All of Cassavoy's jewelry is entirely hand fabricated. Each piece begins as either sheet metal or wire. She then employs techniques such as sawing, texturing, soldering, chasing and repousse to complete the design and construction. She aims to make each of her jewelry pieces highly wearable and easy to maintain and enjoy.
