M.C. O'Neill believes that the beauty of glass echoes the richness and complexity of life. She loves to see light shining through glass and believes that glass lights up color like nothing else on earth.
O'Neill begins each piece with a form or image in mind, sometimes sketched out, and then sits happily at the torch and works the glass until she's satisfied with the result. Through trial and error, she figures out how to make a particular form; through repetition, she refines the form.
A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, O'Neill has also studied a wide variety of glass techniques at Penland School of Crafts and the Corning Museum of Glass.
