My young children are also a constant reminder of the value of play and expressive energy, and I try to capture those feelings in my quilted art.'' After retiring from working many years as an oil exploration geophysicist, Michele Hardy devoted herself full-time to the art of quilt-making. Her technique is a combination of fiber collage, quilting and embroidery and utilizes a variety of dyed, painted and commercially printed fabrics. Spontaneity is central to her creative process, as she experiments with color and form and elaborate threadwork in each of her pieces. |
