The birds in this print are Northern Flickers.
This image is a diptych color etching. It was printed with three copper plates, two of which contain soft ground etched drawings, and one of which, printed twice, contains an etched sugar lift aquatint line, The images are printed on Japanese hand made gampi paper, which is adhered to acid-free printmaking paper using wheat paste. This process is called chine colle.
Each of the two images in the diptych is 10 inches by 8 inches. Limited edition of 20.
