"These images come from my memories, photos, and things I see today. I almost never copy what I see verbatim. I try to put myself in my painting.

I am not just painting what I see, but translating all the emotions that surround the subject, time, and place."

Artist Robert Ferrucci works and paints in New York's Hudson River Valley, combining soft quiet areas of landscape with strong central images of roads, winding rivers, and farm buildings. Painting partially from memory, Ferrucci changes the actual landscapes in front of him to reflect the emotional landscapes of place and time.

Ferrucci's current work is the refined result of 45 years of formal education, a lifetime of painting experience, and an urge for experimentation, all of which have taken him to a style called minimalist fold art. Muted colors, diffused images and a primitive simplicity signify the paintings, which feature country landscapes of distant barns and cottages.
