Amanda Lockrow

"I create jewelry that I hope will be worn and treasured for generations to come. I love the story that a piece of jewelry holds within and how that story unfolds as the wearer takes it with them on their journey. I hope that when you wear a piece of my jewelry you can feel the intention and a little of the magic I feel when I design and create."

Growing up on the rugged coast of Maine taught Amanda to cherish the immense power and beauty of nature. She feels like she has always been an artist. In 2001 when she took her first metalsmithing class that artist spirit found its favorite medium. She instantly fell in love with working with metals and stones. Soon after she fell in love with metalsmithing she learned that one of her ancestors was a sword maker in Japan in the early 1500's. Learning that this love of working with metals went back so far in her blood made it feel like it was truly meant to be that she found sculpture and metals in college.

Amanda uses traditional metalsmithing techniques combined with CAD to fabricate and finish every piece in her Los Angeles studio. Her pieces are crafted using sterling silver and 14K gold. Her signature hammered textures, knowledge of stones and craftsmanship create jewelry she hopes will become favorites in her clients collections. She loves fabricating a minimal bezel setting to just let the beauty of the stones she chooses shine.

Amanda holds a BFA in Metals from Syracuse University. While there she learned fabrication, lost wax casting, enamel techniques, stone setting and more. She also took classes in sculpture, fibers, ceramics, wood and glass to play with her creative curiosity and combining techniques and materials. After college she attended workshops with master metalsmiths to hone her skills. She continues to take online and in person classes to continue learning and refining her skills.
