Beth DiCara

"Botanicals and animals are the main themes of my work; I love to share the joy I find in nature."

You can find Beth DiCara in her Jersey City, NJ studio every day, working in clay to create her whimsical menagerie. Beth DiCara has been an artist all her life. She discovered clay in the early '90's and has enjoyed realizing its endless possibilities. She is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has taken many workshops and is involved with the Potter's Guild of New Jersey.

DiCara creates her animal ornaments with templates she designed. She rolls out thin slabs of porcelain, folds the clay and adds the features. After they are dry, she hand paints them; simplifying the colors and patterns of each animal.
