Hayley Elise Jewellery

"I create handmade pieces that connect people to their core values and remind them that they are loved & adored, just as they are. My designs play with the nostalgia of old-world aesthetics and the freshness of modern design, all while celebrating some of nature’s finest materials. I am deeply inspired by the gifts and wonders nature has to share with us, history, and anything with a curious story and significance. My creations are old-world jewellery for the modern individual."

Hayley’s jewelry features precious and semiprecious stones set in her “snake tooth prongs,” wrapped in velvet matte recycled 14k gold, and accented with diamonds in a signature granule setting. The accent diamonds are ethically sourced and adhere to the Kimberley Process. She prioritizes ethically sourcing her stones and materials as much as possible. Just like the materials, the process is incredibly valuable to Hayley, from hand-picking every stone to hand-carving each piece; she hopes that the amount of passion and adoration she puts into every single creation is passed on along with the jewellery itself as heirlooms in the years to come.

All HEJ pieces start their story as a hand-made wax carving. Through an ancient, multi-step process called “lost wax casting,” the wax model transforms into a gold casting. Each casting is cleaned, stone-set, and polished in her studio in Brooklyn and NYC’s Diamond District. Once each piece is lovingly and meticulously inspected, it gets packaged and shipped out, waiting to be sparkling in your hands.

Hayley spent several years as an apprentice to a master jeweller in Israel, where she was trained in traditional jewellery crafting techniques. This was where she was introduced to the world of lost wax carving, and her love and passion for the technique grew. While her work is inspired by moody, Victorian imagery, Hayley is drawn to design for the modern individual. Her favorite pieces to design are both dreamy and practical, eclectic yet contemporary.
