Leonoff Art Glass
Leonoff Art Glass was founded by Nick Leonoff in Carmel Valley, CA in 2005. The studio creates handblown glass pieces designed by Nick Leonoff and produced by Nick and a team of skilled craftsmen. Leonoff Art Glass operates in both Carmel Valley, CA and Brooklyn, NY.
Nick Leonoff creates blown glass using a variety of techniques, including the Swedish overlay technique, in which one bubble of glass is inverted over another to create layers of color on the interior and exterior of the piece. After the glass is annealed, the surface is carved with diamond wheels to remove layers of glass and expose the colors within.
Nick Leonoff began working with glass as a stained glass apprentice but was soon drawn to the intensity of working with the material in its molten state. Leonoff graduated with honors from Pepperdine University in 2002. He has studied at the Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Pittsburgh Glass Center, and The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass. He has also spent countless hours meticulously refining his craft and aesthetic in his studio. In 2011, he moved his studio to Brooklyn, NY to further pursue his art.
