Brushes, scrapers, palette knives all used to create a unified composition. Scrapings are left to provide dimension in this 2D medium. Guthrie starts out with no thought in mind, just color, manipulating natural shapes and colors to create a unified whole. When the artist viewed it she saw a small figure on the left approaching a large maternal shape. It reminded her of birth and the ultimate creation of a human being.
