Barnacle Vase

This vase was created by using the murrini technique where cross sections of a long rod are cut and arranged in a mosaic pattern that are fused together and rolled into a bubble. Several layers of molten clear glass are added on top of the pattern and is then blown and shaped into a vase. This vase really comes to life when the light comes through it and turns into a pinkish purple color.
