Large Seafoam Cascade Vase

This vase is from Thomas Spake's "Cascade" series, inspired by the waterfalls in his home state of Tennessee. The color pattern of this vessel was inspired by the crashing waves of the Amalfi Coast in Italy and was created using colored glass frit and powders fused to the surface. After its exterior is sandblasted to a matte finish, the piece was carved using a diamond wheel to reveal its transparent interior.
