After Picasso
Bronze Sculpture
Created by
Dina Angel-Wing
Inspired by a Picasso painting of woman combing her hair, the artist was intrigued by how he combined and incorporated the different aspects, planes and views of the subject on a two dimensional surface and decided to explore his concept of mixing and combining the parts of the body into a three dimensional sculpture. She chose a simple speckled whitish patina in order to unify the various facets into a whole but allowing viewing from different angles not possible in the original two dimensional work.
