Jupiter Series 1

A graceful figure curves in perfect unison with a wave in this hand-cast bronze relief sculpture, reminding us of the connection between humans and Earth.

Created using the lost wax process, the piece is first sculpted from clay, and a wax mold is created. At the bronze foundry, the work is repeatedly dipped in ceramic to form a heat-resistant shell into which the liquid bronze is poured.

After being removed from the mold, the bronze is smoothed, sandblasted, and mounted to a black granite base before being accented with blue and gold patinas and coated with wax.
